The thief searched the house but found nothing. Suddenly, a cat jumped down from the attic and landed on the thief’s face. The thief was so frightened that he ran away immediately.
The old man and the old woman heard the noise and went outside to see the thief running away. “Thanks to the old house monster, we are safe,” the old man said.
The next day, they asked the villagers and found out that “the old house monster” was just the creaking sound of the old house. The old man and the old woman laughed and said, “There was no need to be afraid.”
