Basic Information about Daisetsuzan

Daisetsuzan is a mountain range located in the central part of Hokkaido. It includes many mountains, with Mount Asahi (Asahidake) being the highest peak at 2,291 meters (7,516 feet). Daisetsuzan is known for its stunning natural scenery throughout the year, but it is especially famous for its winter landscapes and hot springs. The vast snowfields, ice-covered trees, and beautiful hot spring areas attract many visitors.

Mount Asahi (Asahidake)

The easiest way to reach Daisetsuzan is from Asahikawa City. From Asahikawa Station or Asahikawa Airport, you can take a bus or drive to various areas in Daisetsuzan. During winter, be sure to check road conditions, but public transportation and shuttle buses are also available.
