Mio’s next journey took her to Kakuda, known as the “Little Kyoto” of Miyagi Prefecture. This town is celebrated for its historical charm and beautiful scenery, offering a unique blend of culture and history.

Upon arriving in Kakuda, Mio first explored the old town area. She was greeted by traditional Japanese architecture and winding narrow streets. As she wandered through the historical buildings, she learned about Kakuda’s significance during the Edo period as a prosperous merchant town.

Next, Mio visited Atsuhitakahiko Shrine. Surrounded by tall trees, the shrine had a serene and beautiful atmosphere. Walking through the shrine grounds, Mio enjoyed the peaceful environment and admired the historical artifacts on display.

Mio then headed to the Kakuda Castle ruins. Although only remnants of the castle remain, the site gave her a sense of the town’s historical importance. The surrounding park was perfect for a stroll, with informative plaques explaining the castle’s history and its role in regional conflicts.

In addition to these historical sites, Mio visited the Kakuda Space Center. This unique attraction showcases Japan’s advancements in space exploration. She was fascinated by the exhibits and enjoyed learning about the country’s contributions to space science and technology.

Throughout her visit, Mio was enchanted by Kakuda’s mix of historical charm and modern attractions. The town’s blend of past and present offered her a deeper understanding of Miyagi’s cultural heritage. This journey, like her previous ones, provided her with new insights and inspiration for her artistic projects.
